Ramly aims to triple net profit

Ramly Food Industries Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Ramly Group plans to triple net profit to RM240 million, mainly helped by it’s soon-to be-launched plant in Pulau Indah, Klang.

The plant is fully equipped with automated machines, frozen and dry storage depot, halal logistics, training centre, research and development centre and a production plan for vendors.

It will be completed over three phases by the end of 2017 on a 8.50ha site and will cost a total of RM1 billion.  The first phase covers 5.67ha and will have a six-line production that involves a RM500 million investment.

The six-line capacity is six times of its existing factory output.  For a start, a three-line production will be built at a cost of RM320 million.

Currently, the factory in Mukim Batu is producing five tonnes per hour with only one production line.  The plant in Pulau Indah, of which construction has started, is expected to be ready by the end of 2017.
Under phase one, there will be three production lines each that will produce five tonnes per hour to-talling up to 15 tonnes an hour, so that will triple our productions, said Ramly Group managing director Datuk Ramly Mokni at the signing ceremony here, yesterday.

The signing ceremony was between Ramly Food Industries and two banks for syndicated financing amounting to RM274 million.  The two banks are Agrobank and Malaysia Development Bank or Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad.

I appreciate the commitment shown by the two banks in assisting a Bumiputera company like Ramly towards progressing in the halal toyibban processing industry in the local and international markets, Ramly said.

The second phase of the plant involves the construction of a storage depot on a 2.43ha site with an investment amounting to RM100 million.

For the third phase, a training centre, research and development centre and food processing plant will be set up with an estimated investment of between RM300 million and RM400 million.

Despite the weakening ringgit having an impact of nearly 20 per cent to Ramly Food, it hs no plans to increase prices and will absorb all the additional cost.

We will continue to absorb all the additional cost for now.  It depends on our marketing strategy.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek.
