KUALA LUMPUR, 18 NOVEMBER 2025 – Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad (BPMB) concluded the 2025 Piala Pembangunan Oratory Competition on 17 November 2025, marking the third edition of its SDG-oriented youth initiative and reaffirming the Bank’s commitment to nurturing future leaders.
This year’s competition saw 137 schools nationwide participate in the virtual qualifying rounds, with 16 finalists from 13 states and 3 Federal Territories advancing to the grand finals held at Menara Bank Pembangunan, Kuala Lumpur. The finalists delivered compelling speeches centred on the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), demonstrating creativity, critical thinking, and effective public-speaking skills.
Since its inaugural edition in 2023, the competition has grown from 12 participating schools to a national platform that empowers students to articulate ideas, reflect on sustainability issues, and develop confidence in presenting to professional audiences.
“The calibre of this year’s finalists reflects the talent and potential of young Malaysians. Their speeches showcase creativity, confidence, and the ability to engage critically with sustainability issues. We are proud to provide a platform that develops communication and leadership skills while inspiring students to become change-makers in their communities,” said Encik Mohamad Hasnol A Halim, Chief Human Resource Officer of BPMB.
The grand finals were attended by Yang Berusaha Puan Hajah Nooraini Kamaruddin, Director of the Curriculum Development Division, Ministry of Education Malaysia, alongside ministry’s officers, teachers, and supporters.
